Epic Tails Charters inshore fishing and flats fishing trips are done in water less than 5 feet deep along the grassy flat or mangrove shoreline where it generally remains calm on even the windiest of days. This makes a great trip for those who worry about getting seasick or have smaller children. Yes, it is possible to catch big fish in shallow water. Commonly caught species include Redfish, Snook, Flounder, Seatrout, Sheepshead, Mangrove Snapper, Cobia, Spanish Mackeral, shallow water Grouper and small Sharks using live bait, plastics, and cut bait.

near shore fishing
Epic Tails Charters nearshore fishing trips are in the waters of the Gulf of Mexico only a short distance from the shore while still within sight of land. Nearshore trips are not deep-sea fishing trips. Trips are run on a bay boat, in only calm conditions, and stay relatively close to shore. If it becomes too rough we are only a few minutes away from some of the best flats and inshore fishing, so there are always good alternatives. Commonly caught species include Redfish, Snook, Flounder, Seatrout, Sheepshead, Mangrove Snapper, Spanish Mackeral, Seabass, Cobia, Barracuda, (red and gag) Grouper, and small Sharks using live bait, plastics, and cut bait.
Full-Day: 6 – 8 Hrs (1-2 People): $750

The Epic Bay boat 22SC is powered by a Suzuki 175 four-stroke motor. The Epic’s dry ride and stable fishing platform make your fishing experience as comfortable as possible. It offers comfortable seating for four anglers while also providing shade. Drafting only 12 inches, the Epic Bay boat is capable of navigating the shallow waters along the Nature Coast of Florida as well as the beautiful open bays in the Tampa Bay area. The vessel has large live wells, state-of-the-art electronics, first aid, and trauma kits, as well as all safety equipment required by law and the USCG, and is U.S. Coast Guard inspected, which are just a few of the advantages of fishing with Epic Tails Charters. Captain Chris obeys all state laws and regulations as safety is a priority.

Captain Chris spends quite a bit of time preparing for each and every fishing charter. You can have confidence that you’ll be fishing with first-class equipment that is flawlessly rigged. You’re going to be targeting fish that will look for any opportunity to gain the upper hand, and Captain Chris does his best to give you every advantage.
Live bait including White Bait, Pinfish, and or cut bait along with an assortment of artificial lures are provided on your fishing trip.
Sightseeing & Boating Excursions
Our sightseeing excursions are completely customizable to ensure you have an epic time. Choose from a beautiful spring-fed river trip on the Homossassa River, Crystal River or the Weekie Wachee River or enjoy a day on the Gulf of Mexico to explore the many local islands, beaches, and sandbars. Don’t forget the camera. There are all kinds of wildlife and marine life to see including dolphins, manatees, birds, stingrays, and sharks. Whether you want to plan the perfect proposal, enjoy the beaches, collect sea shells, see a dolphin, or just have a day out taking in Florida’s beautiful scenery, Epic Tails Charters will make sure you have a fun and memorable day. All trips are local and relatively close to shore. Our boat will accommodate up to 6 people. while providing comfortable seating as well as shade.
